The museum also is a home to the West Australian Model Rail Association. This impressive asset makes the museum a perfect place to bring kids as a treat after a visit to the dentist, as the Association maintains working scale models of each of the Thomas the Tank Engine characters so your kids can be kept entertained for hours watching their favourite characters chug along the model lines.

For the nature lovers among us, a walk through the picturesque Whiteman Park, with the gorgeous Swan River winding through, could be the perfect way to kill a few hours before your appointment. Why not arrive early and treat your senses to the luscious green forests and babbling brooks found within this delicious chunk of nature found within the heavily urbanised city of Perth.
